Follow these procedures if you need to change the DLM to another application group member. Ideally, you should decommission the current DLM (first procedure) before assigning the new one (second procedure). Use the third procedure if the current DLM was offline (perhaps for repairs), and then returned to service AFTER the new DLM was assigned. In such a scenario, neither DLM will not function properly until the original DLM has gone through the decommission procedure.
Go to AMC and clear the Hardware ID for the GARID.
On the current DLM:
Navigate to the Application
Group Licensing form.
Click Change.
Change 'Designated License Manager' to No.
Click Save.
Go to AMC and, if not done already, clear the hardware ID for the GARID.
License the replacement DLM:
Navigate to the Application
Group Licensing form.
Click Change.
Change 'Designated License Manager' to Yes.
Enter the GARID.
Click Save.
Synchronize the Application Group:
Navigate to the Network
Elements form.
Select the nodes in this Application Group. (If you do not know which nodes belong in the group, you can select them all. Be aware, however, that the resulting sync may take additional time to complete.)
Click the Sync button.
Click OK in the 'Confirm Synchronization' pop-up window.
Disable System Data Synchronization in the System Options form on the old DLM.
Reboot the DLM.
Navigate to the Application
Group Licensing form.
Click the Change button.
Change 'Designated License Manager' to No.
Click Save.
Re-enable SDS.
From the replacement DLM:
Navigate to the Network
Elements form.
Select the network element that was the old DLM.
Click Start Sharing, then OK to confirm.
Click Sync.
Click OK.
